Everyone is talking about the dangers of texting while driving. Ontario’s ban on using cellphones while driving is coming soon so it’s a topic on the minds – and fingers – of many.

But are there other distractions more dangerous than texting while driving that have plagued people for years?

The LeaseTrader.com website polled more than 3,000 drivers to ask men and women if there are more dangerous driving distractions.

Just over 18 percent of men polled think road rage and the temptation for revenge is the highest distraction today. They also think things like checking out other drivers and other passenger conversations are bigger dangers than texting while driving.

Naturally, women had other driving distractions in mind with kids in the car being the largest concern for distraction. Women also believe that texting while driving is even less of a concern than men think, and putting on makeup and avoiding inclement weather pose a greater risk.
