On October 21 Aviva Canada Inc. announced the launch of the Aviva Community Fund - a unique competition that endeavors to support positive change in communities from coast to coast. Supported by a $500,000 pledge from Aviva, the Aviva Community Fund provides an on-line forum where individual Canadians can share ideas to really make a difference in their community.

Until December 16, 2009, Canadians can visit www.avivacommunityfund.org –and submit ideas and vote for things that they would like to change at a local or national level; this can be anything from constructing a new playground, to revitalizing a local community centre. All ideas are welcome. The most popular ideas, as chosen by Canadians, will be evaluated by a judging panel and when that process is complete, $500,000 will be allocated to making the ideas come to life. The Aviva Community Fund winners will be announced on January 25, 2010.
