Hub International has acquired Mones & Associates Insurance Brokers from Aviva Canada. Mones is a personal and commercial insurance broker in Western and Northern Canada with approximately $10 million in annual revenue.

Mones also operates under the name of Arctic Insurance Brokers in select markets.

As a result of this acquisition, Hub will expand its operations to the following seven new locations in Canada: Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Iqaluit, Whitehorse and Yellowknife.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

In a press release, Hub’s President of Canada and Midwest Regions Jim Barton said that this acquisition is a major step in Hub’s strategy to increase its presence in Western and Northern Canada.

Aviva acquired Mones in May of 2008 as a short-term solution until a suitable partner could be found, according to Grant Miner, Senior Vice President, Western Canada for Aviva Canada.
