The Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario – or RIBO – opened up 112 complaint files for the 2008 and 2009 year.

Last year, just 92 complaints were launched.

RIBO saw complaints from the public, member brokers, insurers and lawyers all increase in 2008-2009, while complaints of non-compliance and from the government and related sources dropped.

Nearly half of all complaints launched this year were due to code of conduct issues.

RIBO’s Complaints Committee consists of a three-member panel, made up of two brokers and one public member.
