Dominic D'Alessandro, the retired CEO of Canada's largest insurance company, and Heroux Devtek chief executive Gilles Labbe, have agreed to become directors of CGI Group.

The Montreal-based company, a leading provider information technology services in Canada and around the world, said the two veteran business executives will be proposed as new members of its board at CGI's annual meeting in January.

D'Alessandro was president and chief executive officer of Manulife Financial from 1994 until his retirement this year.

Labbe has been president and CEO of Heroux Devtek, a Canadian aerospace and industrial products manufacturer, since June 2000.
