Companies and businesses across the globe are pulling together donations to support relief and humanitarian efforts in earthquake-ravaged Haiti.

Intact Financial has donated an initial $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross. The Co-operators are matching staff and agent donations to the Canadian Red Cross, up to $150,000. The Chubb Corporation has established a $500,000 fund for disaster relief, with $125,000 going to each Doctors without Borders and Share Our Strength. The insurer will also match employee contributions to relief organizations on a two-for-one basis, up to $250,000.

AXA Canada has donated $20,000 to the Canadian Red Cross,  and the Desjardins Group is sending an additional $300,000 to the same organization.

Foresters, which is represented by Unity Life in Canada, is donating $50,000 to Doctors Without Borders.

Each of Canada’s Big Five banks is also contributing to the relief effort: TD, RBC and the CIBC Group of Companies are each donating $100,000 to the Red Cross and BMO and Scotiabank are donating $250,000.
