Narrator:On February 19th, ING Canada announced that it would be rebranding itself as the Intact Insurance Company of Canada. President of Intact, Louis Gagnon, talks about the rebranding process and the meaning behind the new name

Louis Gagnon:Well, the last eight weeks have been phenomenal. Seriously, I mean lots of excitement – the reaction so far from all the stakeholders, I would say, that we are dealing with, employees, brokers, our network of people that work in claims, all those people, the reaction has been very very positive. First because now we're a Canadian company which is very important. I think people are very happy that after many years of seeing Canadian companies being bought out by international interests now we have a company that is back in the hands of Canadians so I think that's very exciting I think for the industry in general, for the Canadian public and also for the brokers. I want to put the emphasis that Intact Insurance, the part that is now named Intact Insurance is a company for brokers only and our main objective is to make sure that this becomes the best insurance in Canada for brokers.

There's a lot of excitement. In the last eight weeks we've started to meet first all the employees so we're on a road show since the middle of March. We've been to through the entire country, we're nearly done, there's still a few presentations to make to employees and to brokers. During those presentations we've explained how the deal happened, what was the reason we chose Intact as a name – because I think Intact is a very simple name, it's a name that is easy to remember. Intact is a promise that we make to clients. Our role as an insurance company is to bring people back the way they were before something happened – to bring them back intact. This is key to the promise we're making to clients, we didn't want to choose a name that represented our strength because I think we're a very strong company, very well capitalized and we have a very strong financial position. We wanted to make sure that the name was something that was a benefit for the customers of the brokers that we're dealing with. The benefit of making sure that if they have a claim, our only role in that business is to bring the people back to the way they were before and that's the role of a insurance company. So we really wanted to use new and simpler words to talk to our brokers, talk to our clients to make sure that we demystify insurance, making sure that it's a bit more simple for everyone, easier to understand and I think we used that simple name, a bilingual name, same meaning in French and English and again it's a benefit and an advantage for the clients to have what insurance is all about.

We cannot deny what the old company brought to us, they really made us better in stuff that we're already good at. They really make us better in stuff that large international organizations can afford to do in security, in governments, in everything that large companies can make better. So again, that's the legacy of the old company, but now adding those two in place we can look at the future very positively. And again, being a Canadian company, having our own values and our own identity, using the language that we want to use to promote our brand and the way we want to do business is a fantastic opportunity.
