The Standard Life Assurance Company of Canada announced that Anita Lieberman has joined the Company as Vice-President, Business Development, Group Savings and Retirement. Mrs. Lieberman will be conducting business development initiatives across all Canadian markets to continue to enhance Standard Life’s position in the group savings and retirement market.

A seasoned executive with 30 years of solid experience in the pension and retirement market, Mrs. Lieberman has occupied several management positions at some of Canada’s leading insurance companies. Mrs. Lieberman will be based in Toronto, Ontario.

Standard Life is headquartered in Scotland. It provides asset-managing services for retirement, investment and protection to over 6.5 million customers around the world. As of December 31st, 2008, Standard Life had over $278 billion in assets.
